XXIX Winter Universiade 2019
Example of how PaperUp works

From 1st to 12th of March 2019 XXIX Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk took place. Event’s information support was well organized: a web-site was created as well as several groups in social network. However, event calendar was not very comfortable in using for visitors, as they had to open a new page for each kind of sport just to know when and which competitions are planned on certain day. In other words, visitors had no general table with events and results. Such way made difficulties with navigating the web-site, especially when using mobile devices.

PaperUp represents all events with time and place of performing in a single list. Competition results and winners’ names were also represented in a special column. Active string was implemented by events’ start time and updating was automized. Before several events videos about the Universiade played, thanks to the media input option. These videos are hosted on YouTube.

More than 10000 guests from all over the world visited this page. It’s a great success, as PaperUp had no advertising campaign at that moment. We consider that this fact represents the appreciation of the service by users and the desire to share it with others. Moreover, using PaperUp during the Universiade is a good experience which shows service scalability and high availability; these are important criterions in web-service development.
